Resumen
La investigación desarrolló un doble ejercicio de trazabilidad cuantitativa sobre la situación de las ganaderías de lidia y de los municipios con reporte oficial de realización de actividad taurófila en Colombia, para el periodo comprendido entre el 2012 y el 2023, encontrando que la tauromaquia en tanto negocio, ha venido estando en estado crítico y decadencia, no siendo rentable, continuo, sustentable y haciéndole inviable, tanto para las ganaderías de lidia, como para los organizadores de eventos taurófilos, en tanto, la gran mayoria de municipios del pais, no cuentan con reporte de realización de eventos taurófilos, no cuentan con tradición taurófila plenamente comprobada o cuentan con ausencia de tradición
comprobada.
Abstract
This research conducted a two-pronged quantitative analysis of the status of fighting bull ranches and municipalities with official reports of bullfighting activities in Colombia for the period between 2012 and 2023. The study found that bullfighting as a business has been in a critical state of decline, as it is not profitable, continuous, or sustainable, rendering it unviable for both fighting bull ranches and organizers of bullfighting events, meanwhile, the vast majority of municipalities in the country have no record of holding bullfighting events, lack a fully established bullfighting tradition, or have no proven tradition at all.
